Use an independent financial advisor (one who has no specific affiliation with or contractual obligation to any insurance company). Note that I wrote "advisor," not "agent." If your advisor is not qualified in comprehensive financial planning, he is not qualified to sell life insurance.

Also, keep in mind that the "best deal" may not be term at all.

If you’re looking for "quotes," or bargains, you’re heading for trouble.

Shop around for the best quote. I would caution you to only use A+ or better rated life insurance companies. Call a local independent agent, they have access to multiple life insurance companies and can provide you competitive quotes.

You could also call representatives from some of the major life insurance companies and ask for quotes as well:

Nobody is going to give you a ‘good deal.’ Insurance is a regulated industry and the prices you’ll see in the tool on our site are the same prices you’ll get (if your health dictates that you can get them) if you go through an agent, broker or direct to an insurance company.

Go through a broker that can get you the good companies and the companies listed in the first answer are great companies, but they’re not known to be competitive in the term marketplace.
